| From the company-owned Hardening Plant to the Universal Hardening Plant | |||
| The Weimar-based hardening
plant Reese developed from the company-owned hardening
plant of the Weimar-based facility in 1992, a combine
company with a long tradition, whose 6.000 workers
produced building machinery and machines for agriculture. Since the company has been taken over by the hardening plant Reese five years ago, it has been converted consequently to a universal hardening plant, which is able to offer a wide range of heat treatment techniques to its customers. These customers comprise of companies of the automotive and tool making industry as well as the mechanical engineering and gearbox construction sector. For the case hardening, tempering, carbonitrating and annealing a process-controlled multi-purpose chamber furnace line consisting of five hardening and four age-hardening furnaces are at disposal. In a modern vacuum furnace mainly tools are hardened and age-hardened. An Aichelin furnace is used for the gas-nitration and gas-nitro-carburization. Furthermore, there are machines for MF and HF induction hardening at disposal. |
Research and development
work led to important process innovations such as the
intense cooling required for the thermal post-treatment
of precision parts. These works would be unthinkable
without the support of the material laboratory of the
Weimar-based hardening plant, which is equipped with a spectoscopic apparatus.
This device is always at the disposal for customers who
want to examine materials and damaged parts.
The core of the Weimar-based hardening plant Reese is a process-controlled multi-purpose chamber furnace line consisting of nine furnaces and integrated washing systems. |
