| The company group Reese
Hardening Plants grew out of the Bochum Hardening Plant,
which was founded by the graduate engineer Dr. Helmut
Reese in 1948. In those days the hardening techniques were
still relatively simple, indeed few constructional
components were actually hardened. With the increasing
refinement of hardening
technology new methods were continually added to the
repertoire. This is why today the Bochum Hardening Plant
as a traditional all-purpose hardening plant is able to
offer such an extraordinally wide range of services. Specialist for large components Beyond the traditional service programme, which all four units of the company group offer, the Bochum Hardening Plant specializes in long-duration heating-treatment processes and in the hardening of large and heavy machine parts. For this purpose we have at our disposal larger than normal facilities, e.g. for the case- and surface-layer hardening of parts up to 10m long and weighing as much as 16t. Solutions to those engineering problems posed by larger-scale projects may be worked out in close cooperation with the customer. |
Independent Research
and Development The hardening engineers in Bochum have developed techniques that attain case depths up to 9mm. They also contributed decisively to the introduction of the "profundieren" procedure, which makes possible nitriding case dephts up to 1.2 mm and with good user quality. Other important methods include induction and flame hardening for large and special parts. Goal: Quality that can be reproduced again and again The Bochum and Weimar plants are certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001. They have laid down their inspection and quality criterias in a handbook on quality management as well as in the form of work and procedural directives based on ISO 9001. The documentation of results obtained in our well-equipped testing laboratory also form a part of the services offered. The modern heating-treatment facilities, largely process-guided , enable us to ensure that the quality of the hardening processes remains constant. |
